All supported housing options run hand in hand with Open Choices Specialized Support Programmes. The appropriate programmes will be chosen and decided with the referring Social Worker or team at Open Choices referral stage with exception to our Hostels (Life skills programme only).
Open Choice does extend placements beyond 6 months, to be regularly reviewed.
Shared and Supported Housing For Young Mums To Be
Open Choice is offering shared housing for young mums to be as well as individual self contained flats for young mums to be.
We are offering two or three bedroom houses to be shared by two or three young mums to be. We have found in our experience that a sharing option can be more beneficial to the young mum and safer.
There is also the possibility that the young mums who are sharing the property can offer emotional support to one another. Open Choice will still offer individual one to one support to each of the young mums to be, or group support sessions throughout each week.
Each young mum will have direct access to our advice line 24/7. Levels of support can range from a few hours support up to 5 hours support each day five days per week.
When making your referral please indicate which of the above housing options you feel will best suit the person whom you are referring.
